Hello. My name is Jennifer Lopez, I am 17 years old and I was born in east Los Angeles. Although I moved a lot throughout my life I always stayed at the same school so it was easier for me to make friends. This in turn made me realize that if had moved schools each time I moved houses it would be difficult to make friends. One interesting fact about me is that I like Korean music and always was interested in learning Korean. Another fact about me is that I always thought I was bad at sports till I found out about frisbee so now that's what I do in my past time. I remember in my high school we would have games and play ultimate frisbee, where I found my best friend and we won the whole completion.Funny story about how I met my best friend is that she confused me for her old friend but soon we started talking and realized we had the same classes and helped each other if one didn't know the topic. The last interesting fact about me is that I like meeting people around the world and will chat with someone all night even though we had different time zones. We helped each other through school and connected by having some similar hobbies.I feel that without having these friends it would have been difficult at school and I also learned different rules so it made me more aware. For example at my friends school they have to wear uniform and greet their teachers so in turned I liked greeting teachers when ever I saw them.In middle school I didn't have many friends so I stayed in the library most of the time and read different books which helped me become an honor student and chose the academy in wanted to go to in high school. In my high school there were different academies to choose from Health (my choice),Technology and finance. My high school helped me choose my major and helped me find students with similar interest.I learned that after everything we aren't alone and that with studies comes more friends and more knowledge so if anything is stopping you, just know that you aren't alone and that there are people out there willing to help just like how my teachers helped me.Many things are possible is what I learned from John Langan book "Ten skills you really need to succeed  in school" in which I learned that " education is the only way you're going to escape" without education we wouldn't be were we are now. (Langan 49).

There are ten skills Langan teaches but one skill I found important is how to manage your time. I
learned that the syllabus is the key to succeeded in any class. Without the syllabus you won't be able
to organize your  work or plan out other details. For example you have a test but didn't time it out so
now you're 5 minutes to taking the test and you don't know anything about what will be in it but with the syllabus you could have known beforehand. Also keep a calendar and write down everything that is in the stall us so you will be ready with your supplies in all your classes. Keeping a calendar helps you find out what you have to do each day and what days you can rest. The last thing I learned in this chapter is that make a to do list and write down everything you have to do.For me I would do it on the most important fast to the least so that I won't forget anything. This chapter helped me manage my time and it can help others also.It can help people not forget what they have to do and keeps them updated.

The second skill I learned that I found important is to take notes. I found this one very important because people would copy other people's notes but they have their own style of taking notes so you will be confuse. This is bad since you wouldn't the able to learn that way so instead take your own notes by always going to class and taking notes."When in doubt, write it down" this is a good thing because even if you think you know something chances are you might forget so write it down and keep it in a safe place.( Langan 90).The good thing about taking is that sometimes in class you can use them in test so even if you forget something you can always go back to your notes and be ready to ace that test. After this chapter I learned that taking notes is one of the first things you should do in any class and with taking notes you take in something more than just listening to a lecture.

Although my dog may seem big and crazy at first once you get to meet him he's a fluff ball full of joy and kindness. That's why I choose to make him my act of kindness since he always greets everyone with a hug and kiss.

  2. Your dog is so cute! Is he a Husky or a Malamute? I'm sure he sheds all over your house!
I also love Korean food, especially Korean bbq. I can eat that every day if I could. I made chap chae for the first time this year, and I didn't realize how easy it is!
